Tacoma Aikikai’s Fall Aikido Beginner’s Series runs from Thursdays from October 6th until November 10th. The Aikido Beginner’s Series is the foundation for a long-term martial arts practice. Offered twice a year for new and prospective students, this weekly series sets the groundwork for regular practice in the dojo, scaffolding the basics for steady progression in the dynamic art of aikido.

Join Tacoma Aikikai for a 3-day summer day camp Light Saber adventure in Aikido for youth age 7-12. Kids will use their inner force in aikido play, learning the basics to aikido sword work in the process. Camp will culminate in light saber fun in Franklin Park. Throughout the camp, aikido martial arts principles are taught through games, partner practice, rolling, and falling. Camp includes Japanese language lessons, crafts & culture, outside play, and morning and afternoon snacks. No aikido or martial arts experience is necessary.
An Aikido Superhero adventure! Calling all kids age 7 to 12 to leap, jump, and roll in this 3-day Summer Camp that taps your superpower. Learn aikido martial arts through games and practice that move the body, build confidence, and teach gymnastic and self-defense skills in a fun, cooperative environment.
Join Tacoma Aikikai for an Aikido Camp Intensive for teens and youth age 12+. This 3-day camp focuses on advanced practice for youth with a Red Belt and higher. We’ll deepen our ukemi (falling), throwing techniques, and weapons work through exercises and challenges. The camp will also give students the opportunity to develop leadership skills with teaching and mentorship practice.
A summer Gasshuku aikido retreat in the beautiful Gifford-Pinchot National Forest. Time to celebrate our community in an immersive training weekend with great food, great training, and the great outdoors.
