A Structured Introduction to the Art of Aikido

May 7th – June 25th
Tuesdays 6:00 – 7:00 pm

The Aikido Beginner’s Series is back to build a strong foundation for your Aikido training.

Always wanted to train in a martial art? Looking for a fun way to stay fit? Needing some self-defense skills? Interested in diving deeper into the art of movement? The Aikido Beginners Series is for you!

Join us on Tuesday evenings this spring, as we scaffold a structured introduction to the dynamic art of Aikido – a great foundation begin your practice. In this 8-week series, we’ll cover the history and philosophy of aikido, dojo etiquette, safe falling and rolling, basic responses to a variety of strikes and grabs, and introduce aikido weapons work. Designed as a jumping off point for regular dojo membership, participants can join regular dojo classes at any time – before, during, or after the series.

No experience or equipment is necessary. Wear loose clothes that cover the knees and elbows and bring an open mind. Eligible for adults and teens age 16+.

Cost: $120. Includes the intro class and one additional weekly class according to your schedule.

Already a member or ready to join the dojo? The beginner’s series intro class is free and open to all dojo members, and recommended for new members of all levels.
