Schedule Your Free Introduction to Aikido!
Back to School Special
Fall Beginner’s Series Starts October 19th
1. Visit
New and beginning students are welcome anytime. We recommend scheduling a free trial class or a free 30-minute private intro lesson with one of our instructors to learn more about the dojo and Aikido training. You’ll want to wear loose clothing that covers the knees and elbows for your first time on the mat.
Prospective students are always welcome to drop by and watch a class during our normal class schedule.
Email or call us with questions any time and stay in touch by signing up for our mailing list.
2. Register
Register for membership online or at the dojo kiosk. We’ll apply sliding scale rates, family discounts, and autopayment withdrawel dates on the backend. Automatic payments are enabled with initial registration, but can be waived upon request.
Uniforms are optional during this time for the first three months, and can be purchased in the dojo at any time for $50-$55 + tax. We don’t have contracts, but we do ask that you communicate with us if you need to pause or cancel your membership.
3. Train
Get on the mat and train!
Kid and Teen Aikido students can train in either the Tues/Thurs or Mon/Wed classes, in addition to the Saturday all ages youth class and Friday teen class. Teens can join adult classes with instructor permission. Adult Aikido Students can attend unlimited Aikido and Aikido Weapons classes. We recommend training a minimum of 2 days a week.
Your first classes will focus on learning how to fall safely, then you’ll partner up to practice techniques and throws. Enjoy your training!
Learn more about our Programs for Adults, Teens, Kids, and the Community
Tacoma Aikikai is dedicated to sharing Aikido with the community. Please ask us about our Sliding Scale Rates for families or individuals.
How Membership Works
Membership is easy. Monthly dues support the dojo and offer access to all program-specific classes (kids, teens, or adults).
Monthly membership payments are not payment for classes. Members dues, time, and energy on the mat all support the dojo community so that we can continue to train together. Payments and are due by the 10th of each month unless other arrangements are made. Please contact us to apply for reduced sliding scale rates.
